Mandurah Crabfest - Channel 7

The 2009 Channel 7 Mandurah Crab Fest was another successful event, with 90 000 people enjoying the festivities on the Eastern Foreshore of Mandurah over Saturday 7th March & Sunday 8th March. With the support of local & regional Mandurah businesses, Mandurah Crab-fest festival-goers enjoyed the gastronomic delights of the Crab, Seafood and Wine Pavilion & were able to taste the flavours of the Mandurah region in the Tasting Temptations area. Throughout the Mandurah festival weekend, visitors were entertained by a fantastic array of entertainers, celebrity cooking displays, a dedicated stage & activity area for the kids, multi-cultural displays, Channel 7 personalities and fashion parades just to name a few.

A thrilling race of the mascots, dazzling water carnival and the most extravagant fireworks display Mandurah has seen to date where firm family favorites and this year also saw Joe Camilleri and the Black Sorrows wowing the crowd at the free concert held on the Western Mandurah Foreshore.

All round this year’s Mandurah Crabfest event was a wonderful success, with organisers already excited about next year’s Mandurah Crab Fest - scheduled for the weekend of 6th and 7th March 2010. Mandurah Freeway Extension

A new shuttle bus service is operating in Mandurah called the Hotel and Tour Shuttle or simply the HATS bus. Commencing & finishing at the train station, HATS stops at most major hotels, attractions, boat cruises, shops, shopping centres, restaurants, beaches & the Visitor Centre. This is a scenic tour with a commentary to keep you informed on the history of Mandurah and what to see while you are holidaying here. Work has recently started on the new $155 million Mandurah transport link whch will improve the safety of motorists travelling to and from Mandurah. This is a major new construction, which will help link the new Perth to Bunbury Highway with the centre of Mandurah. It is going to be a major four-lane, dual highway that will provide a great deal of convenience for 10,000 vehicles per day when it opens this year in 2010.
